"If only ___, then I’ll be happy. If only ___, then I can finally feel at peace."
🫣Does this sound familiar? It’s a trap many of us fall into—but it’s not the truth.
🌎The world tells us happiness is something we must chase—a goal to achieve, a thing to earn. But here’s the reality: happiness isn’t found outside of you. True joy is found in aligning your mind, heart, and soul with God.
Here’s why this matters: Psychologists have found that our brain functions best when we focus on gratitude, reverence, and connection. When we worship God—whether through prayer, thanksgiving, or surrender—our brain shifts. Stress reduces, thoughts become clearer, and the burdens we carry feel lighter. Because He makes our load light! Worship isn’t just about honoring God; it’s a psychological reset that transforms your mind.
⚡️The Bible reminds us that worship isn’t optional—it’s essential. But we all worship something. The question is: Who or what are you worshiping?
•Worship: To adore, revere, or pay honor to someone or something.
•Adoration: Reverence for God—bringing our requests, thanksgiving, and praise before Him.
If we take our stress, overwhelm or praise to anyone BUT GOD, we are missing a huge part of Worship with Him. Let me remind you Adam and Eve did not go to God.
When we worship the world—its pleasures, possessions, or promises—it binds us in chains of stress, overwhelm, lack and fear. But truly worshiping God and giving Him (no one or nothing else) the honor- breaks those chains. It shifts our focus from what we lack to what He provides.
This Mindset Monday, let’s break free. Let’s shift our thoughts from "if only" to “God, You are enough.”
Take a moment today to worship—not as an obligation, but as a gift for your mind and soul. The gift that’s freely given to us if we accept it.
Start small:
🔥Speak gratitude out loud.
🔥Pray over what’s weighing you down.
🔥Recenter your focus on who God is, not what you’re missing.
